StatSheet's NEC Player of the Week for January 30th goes to Shane Gibson from Sacred Heart. St. Francis (NY)'s Jalen Cannon has won StatSheet NEC Freshman of the Week. And last but not least, Long Island's Brandon Thompson takes home StatSheet's NEC 6th Man of the Week.
Gibson led all of the NEC in scoring (30.5 pts per game). He also tallied 50% shooting, 5 rebounds per game, and 3.5 three pointers per game. The Sacred Heart junior played well in losses to Wagner and Mount St. Mary's.
Gibson led scoring for the Pioneers with 20 points while adding 2 assists in a 73-54 loss to Wagner. He then led all scoring with 41 points and added 3 steals in an 81-80 loss to Mount St. Mary's.
This is the first StatSheet NEC Player of the Week honor for Shane Gibson. However, he has been named a runner-up once and received an honorable mention. The runner-up this week is Ike Azotam, a sophomore from Quinnipiac. Honorable mention goes to junior Jamal Olasewere from Long Island. The highest ranking player from Monmouth was Jesse Steele who finished eighth.
StatSheet NEC Freshman of the Week: St. Francis (NY)'s Jalen Cannon

In a 75-65 win over St. Francis (PA), Cannon tallied 4 points and 2 assists. In an 81-68 win over Robert Morris, he added 13 points and 11 rebounds.
